How does DailyXI work?

Every day at midnight UTC there's one new puzzle for everyone. In the main mode you guess a qualified 2026 World Cup nation; after each guess we reveal directional clues — same confederation? same group? is the answer higher or lower ranked? bigger or smaller population? a tournament debutant? — until you crack it in 6 tries.

Does everyone get the same puzzle?

Yes. The puzzle is picked deterministically from the date, so you and your friends always see the same one. That's what makes the shareable emoji grid and group leagues fair.

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. The daily game runs entirely in your browser — your streak, history and today's progress are saved locally on your device. Sign-in is optional, only if you want cloud backup or group leagues.

Are there real players in the puzzles?

Accepted Answer

Never. By design DailyXI only ever asks about nations, flags, host cities and soccer terminology. No real player names, no crests, no logos — it's trademark-safe and family-friendly.

What do the paid tiers unlock?

The daily game is free forever. Archive ($1.99) unlocks every past puzzle plus a tougher Hard mode. Season ($4.99) adds group leagues and an end-of-tournament "Cup Wrapped" personal recap. Both are one-time payments, never subscriptions.

How do group leagues work?

Create a league, share the join link with friends or your office, and everyone plays the same daily puzzle. The standings rank players by how fast and how reliably they solve. Works through the whole tournament.
